Worth the wait
The Syracuse football coaching staff tried to land one of the hometown prospects at quarterback in Mike Paulus for this class, but that did not pan out as he picked North Carolina. Days later the Syracuse staff offered a Western Pennsylvania quarterback in Cody Catalina. The young gun slinger was aware of the situation with Paulus all through out the start of the recruiting process and new he would have to wait for his offer.
It took almost two months for Catalina to pull the trigger and verbal to the Orange. A little under two months from that commitment the two quarterbacks met in Syracuse for a 7-on-7 passing tournament. The match up saw Catalina out play Paulus and get fans excited about the future of the position.
Now it is December and Catalina's official visit was over the weekend, nothing has changed since the solid verbal pledge during the summer as he remains fully committed to the Orange.
Catalina plans on making it up to Syracuse when summer sessions start so he can get a jump on his academics.
