Rivals.com three-star offensive tackle Lonnie Edwards of Brownsboro, Texas has been a verbal commitment to Baylor since the spring but now LSU's recruiting efforts are giving him reason to pause.

Edwards (6-5, 305) is being recruited by LSU wide receivers coach Todd Monken as well as offensive line coach Stacy Searels.

"I just got a phone call from Coach Monken not to long ago," Edwards said. "It's going great and I have decided to check LSU out.

"I will put them in my category I guess."

LSU extended a scholarship offer to Edwards back in the spring and have been courting him ever since.
