State likely to hold on to Ellis

SPARTANBURG, S.C.- It's going to take a lot for Wendell (N.C.) East Wake defensive back Dominique Ellis not to stick with North Carolina State.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound versatile performer likely isn't going to let the firing of Chuck Amato keep him from heading to Raleigh, but he will set up at least one visit.

"I plan on setting up with Virginia Tech," Ellis said. "But it's going to take a lot to get me away from N.C. State."

Ellis reiterated why he picked the Pack in the first place.

"Ever since the first time I went to N.C. State, I liked it," he said. "They've got some of the best facilities in the country and I really get along with the players."

The three-star rated prospect added that he didn't know much about new head coach Tom O'Brien, who took the job earlier this week after a long stint at Boston College.
