TigerBait.com Dwayne Bowe has a simple explanation for his breakout season during his fourth year with LSU.
"It's three words," Bowe said. "I can see. Those three words mean a lot."
Bowe had a solid junior season when he led the Tigers with 41 catches for 710 yards and nine touchdowns. But, numerous dropped passes prevented Bowe from having a sensational year.
At the conclusion of the 2005 season, Bowe made a visit to a doctor back in his hometown of Miami which turned out to be quite important.
"I had 20/400 vision," Bowe said. "The doctor told me that had to be a problem. The lights and the glare during game time bothered me."
Following the Peach Bowl against Miami, Bowe had laser surgery on his eyes. With basically a new set of eyes, Bowe has become a new receiver.
"I realized (my eyesight problem) after the multiple drops last year," Bowe said. "My dropping the ball was a result of my not seeing the ball. Now, I have confidence that I'll see the ball and catch it."
