Jackson could see time at linebacker
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.- Richmond (Va.) Varina jumbo athlete Jamar Jackson, a Florida State commit, could see some time at outside linebacker during the inaugural Offense-Defense All-American Bowl on Thursday.
Jackson could end up seeing time at linebacker thanks to a shortage of players at that position after Ohio's Dewey Elliott dropped out of the event Saturday because of a family matter. There also are five defensive ends on the East roster including Jackson, five-star Carlos Dunlap of North Charleston, S.C., four-star Travian Robertson of Laurinburg, N.C., four-star Jazzmen Guy of Hazlehurst, Miss., and four-star Cliff Matthews of Cheraw, S.C.
"I like playing linebacker, but I can play either," Jackson said.
"It's a great event," he said. "I've seen a couple of the other defensive end prospects (Matthews and Robertson) and they seem like great people."
"It's a chance to get better," he said.
