During the Shrine Bowl, cornerback Dominique Ellis of East Wake High in Wendell, N.C., said that he would probably take visits to North Carolina and Virginia Tech. But first he wanted to meet with the Pack's new head coach, Tom O'Brien. He had that chance Saturday at State's basketball game against Boston College.

"I spoke with him for a long time," Ellis said. "He's a great guy. He was very straightforward with what he wanted to do with the program and where he wanted to take NC State. I could from talking to him and his record at BC he's the right man for the job."

So is Ellis still planning on taking visits to Chapel Hill and Blacksburg?
