Davis hopes to step up
The Georgia Bulldogs will be re-tooling their offensive line for 2007 because they return only two starters and only four players overall, Fernando Velasco, Chester Adams, Seth Watts, and Ian Smith with game experience. As the only true freshman offensive tackle left from the 2006 signing class on the roster,
Josh Davis spent all of his first year in Athens on the scout team. As 2007 rolls in, Davis will be learning all of his new lessons on the playing field with the first team offensive line, as he becomes the favorite to start at tackle next year.
With the departures of seniors Daniel Inman, Ken Shackleford, and Michael Turner, the Bulldogs only have one player Adams with game experience at offensive tackle. Davis will have first crack at the offensive line spot vacated by Shackleford at split tackle.
