Fisher hire already having impact on recruiting
Florida State's increasing inability to score points and a mediocre win-loss record has not done much to impress recruits. Despite the drop-off on the field in 2006, the Seminoles still carry a big stick when it comes to recruiting elite defensive prospects -- the same can't be said on the offensive side of the football.
After three straight top five recruiting class, Florida State, who currently ranks 35th in the Rivals.com team rankings, will be lucky to crack the top 20 in 2007. Part of the reason for FSU's lower ranking is having fewer scholarships to offer, but the inability to recruit elite offensive recruits has also been a major factor. With national signing day less than a month away, FSU has only one offensive commitment rated higher than a three-star prospect, and that player has been on the verge of decommitting for months.
