Guyton loses touch with Rebels
One talented athlete who has fallen off Ole Miss' radar is three star athlete A'Jami Guyton.
Guyton, a 5-foot-10 Homestead, Fl. native visited North Carolina this weekend and left very impressed.
"It was good, I loved everything about it, everything was great.," Guyton said.
He told CarolinaBlue.com that he was very close to committing but decided to hold off.
Guyton told Rebelsports.net he was very interested in the Rebels, until he lost touch with the coaching staff.
"I spoke with Coach O, he was calling me once every week at one time but they stopped," Guyton said. "They haven't given me a call. I was considering them."
Guyton said he was not sure why the Rebels stopped pursuing him. He said he informed the staff that his grades were solid and that he scored a 22 on his ACT.
He hasn't visited Oxford yet, but would next weekend if invited.
"I was really thinking about 'em.' I'd love to take a visit there next week and that's the last visit, so I don't know," Guyton said.
If the Rebels don't make a move on Guyton chances are he'll end up a Tar Heel.
"This morning, I met with Butch Davis; I talked with him and everything. He asked me about my family, and things like that, and I said that I loved it there (at UNC)," Guyton told CarolinaBlue.com.
"Yeah, I'd say they're my leader right now," Guyton said, adding that he nearly verbally committed on the visit. "Yeah, I was thinking about it (committing), but I didn't do it. Signing day is next Wednesday. I'm probably going to hold my decision until Monday (February 5th) or something like that."
