Willingham excited about 2007 signing class
With 27 total players from eight different states, Tyrone Willingham could think of one word to describe the UW's newest recruiting class: deep. Covering all of the major positions - including an astounding five running backs - it is a class that Willingham and his staff think will make major contributions when they arrive on campus.
Just two of the signees are from the junior college ranks, with the other 25 faxing in their letters-of-intent as high school seniors. That compares to seven players who came out of a two-year institution before suiting up for the Huskies last season.
"We all like to spend the maximum amount of time with the young people as possible," said Willingham about the preference of high school players.
