Stonum receives official word on offer

Texas natives were a staple of Michigan teams in the early to mid-1990's. In the last decade, however, the Wolverines were not near as prominent with bringing in Lone Star State prospects. In the class of 2007, they reasserted their presence in that state with three players signing letters of intent, and they are starting off well in the class with players like Sugarland (Texas) Fort Bend Dulles receiver Daryl Stonum.

Fort Bend Dulles is the school where Michigan pulled two of their three class of 2007 commitments from, cornerback Troy Woolfolk and linebacker Brandon Herron. The Wolverines would like to have the 6-2, 180-pound Stonum join his teammates in Ann Arbor and head coach Lloyd Carr solidified their interest in him early in the recruiting process.
