Borges looking for improvement this spring
In his first two seasons as Auburn's offensive coordinator Al Borges practically owned SEC defenses finishing at the top of the conference in most offensive statistics.
But 2006 was a different matter.
The AU offense never got on track last fall finishing in the bottom half of the conference in scoring and total yards per game. AU's anemic passing offense took much of the blame but even the Tigers' much ballyhooed rushing attack was only 5th in the SEC.
"We were not at the level we needed to be and fortunate to win 11 games only averaging 24, 25 points a game," said Borges. "We have to score more points than that."
