Earlier this month, the Longhorns picked up a big commitment just days before signing day from Dallas Skyline safety Christian Scott. If things go the way two 2008 prospects from the same school are hoping, the Horns could eventually add a couple of more Skyline prospects to their roster.
Safety Keanon Cooper and linebacker Spencer Reeves were both in Austin last weekend, and both guys came away extremely impressed. In fact, both Cooper and Reeves are now listing Texas at the top of their lists, and Reeves said that he's ready to commit on the spot if the Longhorns come forward with an official invite.
Cooper, who was high on the Longhorns before the junior day visit, said Texas is still right there in the thick of things, but he's waiting to see which offers come his way before formulating any list of concrete favorites.
Reeves, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker with tremendous speed, lists Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, LSU and Baylor as his top five.
