Charlotte (N.C.) Independence has two potential Division I-A prospects for the Class of 2008.

Tight end Mario Carter could end up being one of the top prospects in the Tar Heel State in this recruiting cycle. The 6-foot-6, 240-pounder already holds a scholarship offer from South Carolina and current is focused on the Gamecocks and another in-state program.

"It's going to come down to South Carolina or N.C. State for Mario," Knotts said.
