Smith makes Big 12 decision
There wasn't any secret to which school Houston Chavez linebacker Jarvis Smith was favoring early on in the recruiting process.
The Baylor Bears had certainly impressed the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder both because of playing time opportunity, vicinity from his home in Houston, and a close relationship with primary recruiter Jason Phillips. Despite other scholarship offers from Kansas State and Houston, the talented linebacker made up his mind this morning.
"He committed to Baylor just a little while ago," Chavez coach Mike Jackson said. "You know he had already been on some visits, like he went to LSU this last week for their junior day. He also was interested in Texas A&M because we had the tight end sign there last year.
