Cleary impressed by Wildcat practice
Arlington Heights (IL) St. Viator offensive tackle Emmett Cleary was one of several prospects on hand to watch Northwestern's spring football practice on Saturday afternoon, and the 6-foot-6, 250-pounder walked away impressed by what he saw.
Cleary also appreciated getting a chance to attend a meeting with offensive line coach Bret Ingalls before practice started. Ingalls was installing some new zone blocking schemes, and Cleary got a feeling for how Ingalls goes about teaching his players.
He's leaving on Monday to check out Boston College, Connecticut, Harvard and Yale in a whirlwind three-day trip. He said he's going to visit spring practices at both Boston College and UConn, and will take tours of the two Ivy League campuses.
