Weis hoping for quick return from West
For George West, spring practice might be over. Fortunately for the Notre Dame wide receiver, the most he'll lose is the chance to lock down a starting job by the end of the Blue-Gold Game.
West was injured in an automobile accident in the past week, one that required medical attention and plenty of stitches according to his high school coach. Notre Dame has four spring practices remaining and the Blue-Gold Game on April 21, and head coach Charlie Weis said he wouldn't rule out the receiver making a return but wouldn't rush him back either.
Weis said that while West was absent during the media viewing portion of practice that the receiver participated in some drills later in the workout.
