Virginia Tech had already offered both of his teammates Spencer Adams and Robert Blanton. The Hokies along with one other team have finally pulled the trigger on a scholarship for 6-foot-1, 185-pound safety Eddie Whitley.

Whitley has offers from Virginia Tech and Cal. Oregon and Georgia have also shown interest.
