Bears hit Baton Rouge
Texas is and will always be Baylor's recruiting base.
Since Guy Morriss arrived in Waco the great majority of Baylor's recruits have been Lone Star state products. However, the Bears have reached out for a few guys.
In 2006 Baylor's top recruit was California product and U.S. Army All-American David Gettis and then in 2007 the Bears did it again signing Rivals 250 linebacker Earl Patin from Baton Rouge (La.) Southern Lab.
With last year's success in Baton Rouge the Bears are heading back to the capital city. Scotlandville running back Brandon Bolden was one of the first to report an offer and Istrouma's Dallas Thomas, a Rivals 250 to watch offensive line prospect has reported one in hand as well.
On the defensive side two prospects have reported offers. The Bears returned to Southern Lab for 6-0, 190-pound strong safety Chris Scott and are eyeing Thomas's Istrouma teammate Herman Lathers.
