Another in-state target grabs Irish attention
When Kurt Wermers received a scholarship offer from Indiana last January, the 6-foot-5, 260-pound offensive lineman from Crown Point, Ind., was excited and surprised that a Division I football program thought so highly of him. He didn't realize that was just the beginning.
"I got my first offer in January and then things started snowballing," said Wermers. "I have 12 offers now."
Michigan, Cincinnati, Northwestern, Purdue, UCLA, Iowa and several others also have extended offers to Wermers and he's hearing quite a bit from Notre Dame. The Irish already have commitments from two top Indiana juniors in offensive lineman Braxston Cave and wide receiver John Goodman.
