Davis pays visit to Abrams-Ward
UNC head coach Butch Davis hit the road last week, visiting the schools of several of the program's top in-state prospects. One of those visits was to Thomasville, where he dropped in on multi-talented athlete E.J. Abrams-Ward.
Davis spoke with Bulldogs head coach Benji Brown about the 6-5, 210-pounder, who is projected as one of the state's top all-around players in the Class of 2008. After Davis left, Abrams-Ward was given a clearer picture about UNC's interest from his coach.
"We didn't really talk much (per NCAA rules)," said Abrams-Ward, "But whenever he left, my coach was talking to me about it. He (Davis) wanted me to come up there for the one-day camp, for some one-on-one time at quarterback, and to do a little bit of linebacker."
