Virginia Tech is the latest school to send a scholarship to Concord (N.C.) Robinson offensive tackle R.J. Mattes. The 6-foot-6, 259-pounder picked up the offer Tuesday night from the Hokies.
"I got offered just the other day from Tech," he said. "The coaches came down and saw my tape and offered. I'm excited, that's a really big offer. Virginia Tech is a powerhouse school and always ranked. They are a top program in the nation and I know it's a good academic school to. I like the offer, but I don't know how my dad will take it because he went to UVA."
