Primed and Ready
There are a number of prep prospects annually that have not yet had a chance to shine on the football field. From being in loaded high school programs to playing out of position, some of college football's next stars are still hidden. Chandler (Ariz.) Basha linebacker Kurt Mangum is one of the many who fit this bill. BearTerritory will tell you why the Grand Canyon state defensive stud is primed and ready for a breakout senior season in 2007.
Now at his third high school in four years, Mangum is extremely excited about 2007.
"I've been waiting my turn for awhile," Mangum said, starting out his prep career at Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary's high school. "Most definitely - this is my year. I lived in Detroit for seven years, and moved to Arizona before my junior year. When I was in Detroit, I played JV my first year, and then played behind Aaron Gant - who is now at Ohio State. So I never really got a chance there."
