UGA Camp leads to offer for Jones
One of the most talked about prospects entering the University of Georgia camp this weekend without an offer from the Dawgs was Centerville (Ala.) offensive line Ben Jones. Jones put on a show on day one and followed that performance with another good one on day two. He had Georgia coaches surrounding him from the minute the one on one battles began and he showed them enough to earn an offer.
"I think I had a really good camp and I guess they (UGA Coaches) liked what they saw because they offered me a scholarship," said Jones. "After the camp I met all the coaches, took a little tour and then Coach Richt offered me a scholarship in his office."
Stacy Searels may have tipped Georgia's hand during the camp, so the offer was not a huge surprise.
"He kind of hinted to me a couple times during the camp that they were going to offer me and things like that, so I thought they might. I did not know if they would going into the camp, but I was hoping they would."
Jones really wanted to show Georgia that he was worthy of an offer and he thinks one part of his play helped him.
