Plato to attend FNL
Nicholas Plato does not remember much about the accident. He remembers getting in his truck and putting the radio on. The next thing Plato knew he was in the hospital and his mom and dad were standing there.
The in-between is the story. That's when a car bumped Plato from the back and pushed him into oncoming traffic. That's when another truck rammed into the passenger side of Plato's automobile at about 55 mph, pinning him and causing a serious wreck.
Plato, a 6-foot-6, 228-pound tight end from Edwardsville (Ill.), broke his left arm. He was taken in a helicopter to the hospital. The outcome of the accident could have been much worse.
