Tide on top for Louisiana safety
The John Curtis High School football program has churned out bluechip recruits like a toy factory in recent year, and the 2008 crop of athletes is no exception. One of the top safeties in the southeast made his way to the Alabama camp in June and currently has the Tide on top of his list of favorites.
"The camp was great. It was just awesome," said John Curtis (River Ridge, La.) defender P.J. Smith, who stands 6-foot-4, 185 pounds. "All I heard leading up to the camp was how Coach Saban wasn't very friendly and never smiled or anything like that. He joked around with us and had us laughing the whole time.
