2007 CougZone Predictaganza - The Team
Last year, the Cougar football team was this close [insert obligatory visual image of two fingertips almost touching - here] to going to what would have been their first bowl game since 2003's memorable Holiday Bowl triumph over Texas. But close only counts in bananas and some other irrelevant thing we can't recall at the moment. This year, the Cougars may have a more difficult time getting over that bowl game threshold without the services of record-setting receiver Jason Hill but they do have a senior returning quarterback and a solid defensive line [if they can stay healthy] - which are always two important factors in determining Pac-10 success. Finishing with a 7-5 or 6-6 record, might get them a berth in today's bowl-happy environment but they will likely need some improved performances, overall good health and pleasant surprises from new faces to make that happen.
