Big hitter from Georgia plans to visit UK
The intensity Kentucky displayed on defense in its final two games of the season is something fans want to see the Wildcats build on in the future.
One of the top prospects on UK's 2008 recruiting board says he is the right man for the job.
"Toughness and tenacity," said Dacula (Ga.) safety Khiry Battle when asked to describe his best attributes. "I'm a very physical player. I like to hit and I never shy away from contact. If there isn't any, I try to find some."
And how did he develop that kind of mindset?
"I started playing varsity football when I was in the ninth grade," he said. "When you're that young, you get pushed around a lot. I had to learn how to fight back and be a hitter or else I would get bullied. I guess you could say I have a good mean streak when I get on the field now."
