The Dawgs put on the pads
The Georgia Bulldogs strapped on their full pads for the first time in fall camp Thursday morning. The defense ruled the day which was a welcome sight to Head Coach Mark Richt.
Here is what Coach Richt had to say about the morning practice.
It is an exciting day and an exciting morning. There was a lot of physical play. We tackled for about 25 minutes in what we call a three-on-three drill, which the defense won 7-6. We take our three d-linemen and a back and three o-linemen and a back and they get three downs to get ten yards. We do the same thing with linebackers and tight ends. It was a very heated battle and it came down to the last one and the linebacking core won. The third group is the receivers versus the defensive backs. That was a good drill. On the inside drill, the number one defense dominated the number two offense and the number one offense against the number two defense was about even day there. On the goal line, the number one offense scored three times to one against the number two defense and the number one defense was three for three shutting out the number two offense out. It is ones versus twos. The number one defense shut them out on the goal line which is a great sign and a great way to finish practice.
