Jerod primed for run at state title
DeSoto defensive lineman Tony Jerod spent most of his summer playing in AAU basketball tournaments across the country, flying and driving from venue to venue.
He says he liked it because it kept him in shape and kept him from getting bored. But it wasn't football.
However, for Jerod and many other Texas high school athletes like him, today is the first day of August practices. He knows it's going to be over 100 degrees outside and that there are going to be two practices a day.
None of that matters to the 6-foot-5, 249-pound Texas A&M commit.
