Carter suffers knee injury
Of all nine of NC State's commitments, tight end Mario Carter was on the most prominent team, playing for Independence High in Charlotte. The powerhouse program has won 108 consecutive games. If they are going to continue that streak this year, they are going to have to do it without Carter.
Carter suffered a knee injury last week during a scrimmage against Charlotte Catholic on Friday. Originally the knee was believed to have been dislocated and Carter would miss only a couple of weeks. Carter however went back to the doctor Wednesday for a further diagnosis and the news was not so good.
"I tore my ACL and my MCL and I got to repair an artery in it," Carter said, adding that he is easily out for the season.
"Probably around six months rehab," he noted. "I'm upset but there is nothing that I can do about it."
