St. Louis sons hope for happy homecoming
More than ten players on the Missouri roster call St. Louis, or one of its suburbs, home. Many of those will play a critical role when the Tigers play in the Gateway City for the first time in four years.
"I'm gonna be excited and nervous at the same time. Emotionally, it's gonna be good for me. I've never experienced anything like that before. I'm glad it's in front of my home town," said Kirkwood native Jeremy Maclin. "Not very many colleges get to do something like that."
St. Louis natives Darnell Terrell, Hardy Ricks and Will Franklin will all start the game and Maclin could be back to receive the opening kickoff. Freshman Carl Gettis will play a prominent role as well.
"A lot of my family back at home pretty much all of them want to get tickets," Terrell said. "Unfortunately some people are going to have to pay. It's real exciting. I'll probably get goosebumps once we get to St. Louis city limits."
