Video: Ringer respectful and ready for UAB
EAST LANSING - Michigan State junior running back Javon Ringer is eager to get back on the football field and test out the Spartans' balanced pro-style offense against UAB this Saturday.
Ringer spent time with members of the local media after Tuesday's practice talking about his expectations for the season and answering questions on everything from coming back from the injury that sidelined him for half of the 2006 season to the potential impact of true freshman wide receiver Mark Dell, who will start his first game as a Spartan against UAB.
Ringer also shared his thoughts on winning back the support of Spartan fans that have become disillusioned by the lack of success during the John L. Smith era at Michigan State. Ringer and his teammates have made it clear that they feel like that want to rebuild fan support by playing sound fundamental football.
Ringer was also asked about the possibility of Michigan State having two 1,000-yard rushers for the first time since Hyland Hickson and Tico Duckett.
