Miami football/track star lists Cats in top two
The University of Kentucky track and field team is at it again, helping the football team find athletes who want to play football as well as compete in its sport.
Freshman Derrick Locke found his way to UK through track connections, and now UK's football coaches have offered another track star for the 2008 class. This young man also puts Kentucky in his top two.
After spending the summer attending football camps exclusively in the Florida area, Eric Adeyemi, a wide receiver from Miami's Southridge High School, was talking to UK coaches in a different sport.
"At first, I was talking to the track head coach at Kentucky," Adeyemi said. "And I told him I really wanted to play football. He then told me he was going to see if he could get me offered in football. I sent him my highlight tape, they evaluated, and they offered me."
