Though Texas Tech is certainly a pass happy offense, the media tends to constantly overlook the importance of having a solid back in the Air Raid offense. Tech's coaches, however, place a premium on the tailback position, and have been rewarded with great play out of the backfield.

They've also done a good job of keeping the cupboard well stocked, signing a slew of talented backs in recent years. And since they've already got their man for the 2008 class, four-star Lawton product Harrison Jeffers, they've started to turn their attention to the 2009 class and fellow Oklahoman David Oku.
