Scouting Tift County at Valdosta
VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Wolfpacker got a two-for-one deal when it traveled to Tallahassee last weekend for the North Carolina State at Florida State game Saturday.
The night before, Tift County High of Tifton, Ga., traveled 45 minutes South to play traditional Georgia power Valdosta on Oct. 5.
Tift County featured NC State commitment Zach Allen, our first look at the powerful offensive lineman, and Valdosta had senior running back David Arnold, who is receiving some Wolfpack recruiting attention.
The game and venue was as good as any that I have been too over the years. Valdosta is a traditional Georgia power and its stadium is impressive with FieldTurf and probably has seating for 15,000-to-20,000. Football was in the air as soon as you entered, and Mother Nature even agreed to stop raining after thunderstorms throughout the day.
