Ayers getting used to new position at Trinity
Euless Trinity tight end and Texas A&M commit Josh Ayers isn't your average tight end at 6-foot-5, 282-pounds. In fact, the A&M coaching staff recruited Ayers as an offensive and defensive lineman.
Most observers thought that Ayers wouldn't get his first shot at playing offensive line until he arrived at the A&M campus since he was slated to start at tight end for the Trojans. However, fate intervened three weeks ago when Ayers was moved to quick tackle.
"I'm pretty big for a tight end," Ayers said. "Our backup tight end can block good too and he's more of typical tight end than I am. He just opened up more stuff on the offense."
Ayers didn't have a problem with the move at all.
