Sanford returns with added fire
It's the roar of the crowd after a big play that puts the biggest smile on Ole Miss safety Jamarca Sanford's face. It's the feeling of being on the field that gets him going.
But after one hit late in the Rebels loss against Florida, Sanford wasn't feeling much of anything.
Taking on an offensive lineman, Sanford took a hit and his shoulder went numb.
"Ever since," he said, "whenever I take a big hit, it goes numb."
He played against Georgia and survived without incident, but early against Louisiana Tech, it happened again.
"I thought I'd be back, but the doctors told me it'd be best if I sit out," Sanford said. "They said it's an injury than can get worse if I don't watch it."
