Matthews (N.C.) Butler safety Eddie Whitley hasn't played a down this year due to an ACL injury he suffered over the summer. Even still, the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder is keeping busy helping his team to victory, getting healthy and recruiting for the Hokies.
"I'm doing great, my rehab is going along really well," he said. "I'm starting to move around more and my agility is better. I'm doing some squats and hand cleans.
"I talked to doctors recently about my injury and they said I'm at about 75% right now. Everything is good and I just need to strengthen up, they think I could probably be back in December. Since they know I'm a big football recruit, they just want me to wait until February to be sure to make sure I don't have any bumps and bruises.
"About the only thing I can't do is run full speed yet. I get a little sore from that stuff, but I can go half speed and jog."
Meanwhile, Whitley continues to support his team who has improved to 8-2 on the year.
