Frenzy in Fayetteville
It was a game that looked like any other tough SEC battle after a half on the newly named Frank Broyles Field, but the Arkansas-South Carolina game on Saturday night turned into a record-smashing carnival of football that produced 1,139 yards of total offense and 84 points.
A 28-10 Arkansas halftime lead turned into a 28-20 ballgame and then a 35-27 ballgame during the 3rd quarter. But Arkansas maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way and took home a 48-36 win. Razorback running back Darren McFadden exploded back onto the Heisman scene with a 35-carry, 323-yard performance. He set the all-time Southeastern Conference record for rushing yards in a game, breaking Frank Mordica's 1978 record of 321 yards when his Vanderbilt team faced Air Force.
