Big decision coming for Richardson
NASHVILLE, TN -- D'Vontrey Richardson was one of the most highly regarded members of Florida State's 2006 recruiting class but through his first two seasons he has barely seen the football field. In fact, until Monday's Music City Bowl, his total action consisted of two carries for minus two yards.
Unlike football, he has seen plenty of action for the Seminole baseball team. In 2007, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound athlete started 28 games in center field and hit .351 at the plate for Mike Martin.
With a lack of depth at wide receiver and De'Cody Fagg nursing an injury, the redshirt freshman from Leesburg, Georgia saw his first extended action in a football uniform in the Music City Bowl. In addition to receiver, he also played on both kickoff and punt coverage. But the highlight of his day was a huge block he laid on a Wildcat defender that helped the offense pick up a big gain.
