Asack feels the excitment
Duke assistants Ron Middleton and Zac Roper have vowed to turn around the Blue Devils woeful special teams unit with a heavy emphasis placed on kicking. Over the weekend, the two coaches had an opportunity to meet with committed place-kicker Paul Asack, as the senior from Westwood (Mass.) Xaverian Brothers took his official visit to Duke.
"I talked to [Middleton] a lot while I was down there and I talked with coach Zac Roper a lot, too," Asack said. "Coach Roper talked to me about what the plans are for the kickers and how he intends on improving the kicking game from last year. He talked about our goals and how we need to just keep working hard to get better."
Despite having his brother, Zack, at Duke, the younger Asack had not yet been introduced to David Cutcliffe in person. When he finally had the opportunity, he got a firsthand look at what his brother had been telling him about the new Blue Devils mentor since the day he was hired.
