Aggies offer class of 2010 linebacker
Since they arrived on the Texas A&M campus in early January, new head coach Mike Sherman and defensive coordinator Reggie Herring have been aggressive in identifying linebacker prospects and offering them.
It started with offers to linebacker/defensive end types in the 2008 class such as South Oak Cliff's Jacquies Smith and Austin LBJ's Ricky Cavanaugh. However, Sherman and Herring have already offered two linebackers in the class of 2009, and even have offered a member of the class of 2010 in Dallas Skyline's Corey Nelson.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Nelson, who reportedly runs a 4.5-second 40-yard dash, is an interesting story. He was Second-Team All-State and Sophomore of the Year in District 11-5A as a defensive end, but he'll move to linebacker this next season.
