In-state sleeper finds home at Duke
Duke head coach David Cutcliffe said when he was introduced at the Yoh Center back in December that if a player could run, he would find him. Well, the Blue Devils staff did exactly that as they targeted and succeeded in the recruitment of in-state sleeper Tony Foster from Burlington (N.C.) Williams High School.
Foster, a 6-foot-2, 170 pound wide receiver had received early attention from Duke back in the early months of the 2007 football season, but when interest dropped off it wasn't clear if he would get an opportunity to play at Duke. When the new staff rolled in to town, however, Cutcliffe went looking for speed and with a 4.42 40-yard dash, Cutcliffe found what he was looking for in Foster.
