Perry a new addition to the Trojan family
Nick Perry is a Trojan, and in a unique twist, the story gets even better.
After making a name for himself at the U.S. Army Junior National Combine in 2006, Perry returned to San Antonio (Texas) as an All-American with scholarship offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Miami and others. Wednesday, he became a rival of a new teammate.
Every year USC reinforces its hold on college football as a national recruiting power. Whether it's Florida, Texas, New Jersey or Georgia, the Trojans go big on the biggest stage. Wednesday morning, Heritage Hall erupted when the coaching staff learned that Perry was officially a Trojan.
With news of his letter of intent reaching Los Angeles, Perry joins fellow Michigan native Ronald Johnson on the Trojans' roster. The twist is, the two best players out of Michigan in consecutive years will be playing at USC while their respective high school battle each other on the gridiron next fall.
King will play Muskegon at Eastern Michigan to kick off the 2008 MHSAA season.
