Greene signs in scarlet
For Khaseem Greene, the voyage into the world of college football included a brief layover at Avon Prep School in Connecticut. Greene graduated from Elizabeth last year, however academic issues forced him to prolong his arrival at the Division 1 level. After six months of hitting the books as well as receivers at Avon, his performance in the classroom enabled him to finally put the pen to paper on Signing Day.
"I'm happy and I'm very excited," Greene said after signing his national letter of intent to attend Rutgers University. "The whole prep route, it's been a long time coming. After being out there and living on my own, I got the hang of it. It was definitely worth it. It helped a lot. The first time I took my SAT, I went up 80 points. My grades are way better. I'm actually taking harder classes. Now, I'm taking college classes."
