Vols Take Look at Oregon Point Guard
To say that there's a lot going on in Tennessee basketball right now would be to understate things greatly. The Vols have plenty on their plate right now in what's shaping up to be the biggest week in the program's history. But as the old saying goes, recruiting never stops, and in the Vols' case that means the hunt for point guard help in the Class of 2008 is still underway.
In recent weeks that search took the Tennessee staff to the Pacific Northwest where assistant coach Steve Forbes scouted Portland prospect Paul McCoy of Grant High School.
McCoy (5-foot-11, 175 pounds) inked a Letter of Intent with Pepperdine in the November signing period, but things hit a snag on his way to being a Wave when head coach Vance Wahlberg abruptly resigned last month.
With his future now back up in the air, and Tennessee looking for point guard help, the Vols were among the first programs to come in and take a look.
