2008 looks to be a transitional year for the Utes at the safety position. They have a new position coach in former Utah All American Morgan Scalley. On the personnel front, they have big shoes to fill with the departure of defensive leader Steve Tate. However, despite the changes, the Utes return a bona fide star at free safety and a number of young players who are hungry to get on the field.
