Auburn has extended a scholarship offer to a top in-state quarterback for 2009 and could be close to gaining a commitment from the 6-foot-4, 215-pounder.

Mobile (Ala.) Faith Academy QB Raymond Cotton took an unofficial visit to the Plains Sunday for the Tigers' first Junior Day of the spring, and apparently left very impressed.

"Everything went great," said Cotton. "I liked the campus a lot. That was my first time seeing it. It's a nice campus, big, too. I really liked the practice facilities and the stadium. The stadium is huge."
