Video: Kirk and Riley in action as Izzo looks on
ROMEO, Mich. - Detroit Country Day has rolled through its first two Class B district games and appear on their way to clinching a district championship tonight.
But before the Yellowjackets started their near annual march to the Breslin Center, the site of the boys basketball finals in Michigan, Country Day tuned up with a 60-51 win over Romeo.
The game offered one final opportunity for DCD big men DaShonte Riley and Donnovan Kirk to work on their post chemistry before marking through the Class B tournament on the way to the Breslin.
Tom Izzo was in the stands to watch the two Yellowjackets in action, as both Riley and Kirk have received scholarship offers from the Spartans for the Class of 2009. When he wasn't mobbed by fans in the stands looking for autographs and stopping by to say hello, Izzo saw two young big men with a lot of upside who have a lot of work to do this summer to get the most of their talent according to Country Day coach Kurt Keener.
